Permanent residents are not Canadian citizens, they are citizens of other countries.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"p1\" id=\"mcetoc_1fqecic3j1\">Requirements To Maintain Canada Permanent Residence<\/h3>\n<p class=\"p1\">To maintain Canada <a href=\"https:\/\/immigration.ca\/benefits-obligations-permanent-resident-canada\"><span class=\"s1\">permanent residence<\/span><\/a>, candidates must be physically present in Canada for 730 days (two years) in the last five years. The 730 days do not need to be continuous.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">To track time in Canada, the Canadian government recommends candidates keep a travel journal.
