Originally launched in 2020, the pilot has since been extended and remains a key part of Canada&rsquo;s strategy to address chronic labour shortages in the agri-food sector. The following sectors qualify:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Meat product manufacturing<\/strong> (NAICS 3116)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Greenhouse, nursery and floriculture production<\/strong>, including mushroom production (NAICS 1114)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Animal production, excluding aquaculture<\/strong> (NAICS 1121, 1122, 1123, 1124, 1129)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Eligible Occupations<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>To apply, candidates must have qualifying Canadian work experience in one of the following National Occupation Classification (NOC 2021) roles:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">1. Animal Production (NAICS 1121\u20131129)<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>NOC 82030 \u2013 Agricultural service contractors and farm supervisors<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>NOC 84120 \u2013 Specialized livestock workers and farm machinery operators<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>NOC 85100 \u2013 Livestock labourers<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>NOC 85101 \u2013 Harvesting labourers<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Candidate Requirements<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>To be eligible for the Agri-Food Immigration Pilot, candidates must meet all of the following criteria:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Work experience<\/strong>: At least 12 months of full-time, non-seasonal work (minimum 1,560 hours) in Canada under the Temporary Foreign Worker Program in an eligible occupation.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Language<\/strong>: Minimum score of <strong>CLB 4<\/strong> in English or French across all skills \u2013 speaking, reading, writing and listening.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Education<\/strong>: At least a Canadian high school diploma or an equivalent foreign credential.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Job offer<\/strong>: A full-time, non-seasonal, indeterminate job offer outside Quebec in an eligible industry, at or above the prevailing wage.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Settlement funds<\/strong>: Proof of funds is required unless the candidate is already working in Canada.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Application Limits<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The program accepts up to <strong>2,750 principal applicants<\/strong> per year. Additional spots may be taken up by accompanying family members.
