This permit is <strong>open<\/strong> \u2013 meaning you can work for almost any employer in Canada without needing a Labour Market Impact Assessment (LMIA).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">PGWP Eligibility (2025 rules)<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>To qualify, you must:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Have completed a full\u2011time program of at least <strong>eight months<\/strong> at a <strong>Designated Learning Institution (DLI)<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Graduate from:\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>A public post\u2011secondary institution (college, university, or CEGEP), or<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>A private institution in Quebec that operates under the same rules as public institutions, or<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>A Canadian private institution that is authorised to grant degrees under provincial law<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Apply within <strong>180 days<\/strong> of receiving written confirmation that your program is complete<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Hold a <strong>valid study permit<\/strong> at the time you apply<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Maintain <strong>full\u2011time student status<\/strong> in each academic session of your program (except for your final term or an approved leave)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>If your study permit has expired, you may still apply for a PGWP <strong>within 90 days<\/strong> by first applying to restore your status.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Important 2025 Updates<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>If your program began <strong>on or after May 15, 2024<\/strong>, and is delivered through a <strong>public\u2013private partnership<\/strong> or <strong>curriculum licensing arrangement<\/strong>, it does <strong>not<\/strong> qualify for a PGWP.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Starting in <strong>2025<\/strong>, some programs must also meet a <strong>field\u2011of\u2011study requirement<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Canadian Experience Class (CEC) \u2013 A Pathway to Permanent Residence<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The <strong>Canadian Experience Class (CEC)<\/strong> is one of three programs managed under <strong>Express Entry<\/strong>. It allows international graduates with skilled Canadian work experience to apply for permanent residence quickly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">CEC Eligibility<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>You must:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Have at least <strong>1 year of full\u2011time<\/strong> (or equivalent part\u2011time) <strong>skilled work experience<\/strong> in Canada gained in the last <strong>3 years<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Have gained this experience while holding valid authorisation to work (e.g., PGWP)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Submit <strong>valid language test results<\/strong> from an approved provider<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Intend to live <strong>outside Quebec<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Work experience must fall under <strong>NOC TEER 0, 1, 2 or 3<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Express Entry is points\u2011based, so additional factors such as age, education, and language scores affect your ranking.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Provincial Nominee Programs (PNPs) for Graduates<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Most provinces and territories offer <strong>Provincial Nominee Programs (PNPs)<\/strong> that include special streams for international graduates.
