The scores required depend on the different programs under which a candidate is applying.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To measure the language levels, the immigration authorities use the <i>Canadian Language Benchmarks<\/i> (CLB) for English and the <i>Niveaux de comp\u00e9tence linguistique canadiens<\/i> (NCLC) for French.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Below you will find charts which convert scores received under third party language examinations into the corresponding language level.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Federal Skilled Worker Program<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>You must obtain a minimum level of CLB or NCLC <b>7<\/b> for your first official language in all four language areas. knowledge of English or French.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you decide to submit a third-party language test, the results must be equal to <b>CLB \/ NCLC level 4 or higher <\/b>in<b> speaking and listening <\/b>abilities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The federal authorities also accept expired test results if they were done for immigration or citizenship purposes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Accepted third-party tests
